The NFB Celebrates International Women's Day with Screenings across the CountryIWD 2007 screenings are presented in partnership with Amnesty International, Ontario Native Women's Association, Women Align All Nations, DOXA Documentary Film & Video Festival, Vancouver Status of Women, Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women and the Native Women's Association of Canada. International Women's Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on the progress and achievements made, and challenges faced, by women around the world. At the National Film Board of Canada, we believe that a greater understanding of women's issues comes one story at a time. Each story becomes a lens through which we can better understand our society, create awareness of the most tragic situations and provoke debates and discussions on today's realities. To celebrate International Women's Day 2007, three new NFB films - written and directed by women - will be screened at events across the country.
