Task force releases updated poster of missing women Jack Keating Thursday, January 25, 2007
The Missing Women Task Force released yesterday an updated poster of 65 missing women that highlighted 26 women who Robert "Willie" Pickton is accused of killing.
The date on which the 65 women were last seen is listed below each woman's name and picture. The women on the missing list disappeared between 1978 and 2001. There is still a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction for the person or persons responsible for the unlawful confinement, kidnapping or murder of any or all of the listed women missing from the streets of Vancouver. The updated poster includes the removal of three women, previously on the list, that were found alive. Police are asking anyone with information on the missing women, and who have not yet spoken to police, to call the Missing Women Task Force at 1-877-687-3377. Staff-Sgt. John Ward, spokesman for the RCMP in B.C., said "it's very possible" that some of the other 39 women on the list are victims of foul play. The poster can be found on the RCMP website at www.rcmp-bcmedia.ca/index2.jsp. The 65 women, who are listed in alphabetical order, vanished from the Downtown Eastside.
